David and Robyn McGain have been running homestay bed and breakfasts for the last 20 years. Abelia House is their third B&B and through plenty of practice, and a few mistakes, they have created a wonderful place to stay.
Robyn and Dave are avid gardeners. The five acres is a great place to meander amongst the trees and gardens and enjoy the bird life. Every year with the planting of native trees and shrubs, the bird life seems to be increasing. They have planted over 200 trees/shrubs in the last twenty years and with the latest good rainfall everything is looking the best it has looked for a very long time. Robyn is also a keen textile artist. The quilts on the beds show both her passion and skill in working with fabric. She loves the many galleries around the region and is well able to answer questions to help you plan your day trips.
And you must not miss Robyn's fabulous country afternoon tea on arrival!
